1. Characteristics of the rubber crawler walking system
The rubber crawler has the characteristics of light weight, low vibration, low noise, high adhesion, good ground adaptability, and no damage to the road surface; it is especially suitable for urban construction.
The basic structure of the rubber crawler and the steel crawler is the same, usually consisting of guide wheels, supporting wheels, driving wheels, supporting wheels, crawler and walking frames. The main differences and characteristics are:
(1) The rubber crawler is a whole continuous crawler made of rubber molded, the core is reinforced with fabric and multiple steel wire ropes, with spurs on the outside and transmission parts on the inside. The steel transmission parts are embedded in the vulcanized rubber belt. The main parameters of rubber tracks are pitch, number of sections, track width, pattern style, embedded metal parts style, etc., as shown in the figure.
(2) The drive wheel is installed on the travel reducer to wind the track to ensure the mechanical operation. The drive wheel for rubber tracks adopts a convex tooth shape with a pitch of 128mm. There is bending stress during the operation of the track, which will cause fatigue damage to the track, so the diameter of the drive wheel should not be too small.
(3) The supporting wheels, support wheels and guide wheels are respectively straddled on both sides of the track teeth and pressed on the rubber plane. In order to prevent the wheel rim from cutting and severely squeezing the rubber and causing damage, the wheel rim is wider: because the track teeth are higher, the wheel body is larger.
2. Key points for use and maintenance
(1) There must be appropriate tension. If the tension is too small, the track is easy to fall off; if the tension is too large, the track life will be reduced. When checking and adjusting, the travel system should be lifted unilaterally, and its height should be 10-20mm, as shown in Figure 3. When the tension is small, it can be readjusted through the tensioning cylinder.
(2) Avoid sharp objects when the machine is moving to avoid scratching the crawler tracks; avoid turning too quickly on commercial concrete roads with high friction coefficients to avoid tearing the rubber. Under normal circumstances, avoid turning too quickly or too sharply, and try not to use single-sided crawler steering when turning.
(3) Do not allow the crawler tracks to stick to corrosive substances such as oil. Once found, wipe them off immediately.
(4) When stored for a long time, keep them indoors to avoid sun and rain. Before storage, clean the crawler tracks to extend their service life.
(5) Once the drive wheel is worn, it should be replaced in time.
(6) LEMG series excavators are all equipped with rubber crawler tracks, and steel crawler tracks can also be selected
