How much does it cost to rent a mini excavator?

Release Date:01.03.2024

For most people, renting or buying is a difficult decision. In making this decision, we should consider the following questions:

Budget: When deciding to buy or rent, it's important to consider your budget and available funds. The upfront costs of leasing are usually very low compared to buying. However, leasing is often more expensive than buying in the long run, and it's best to choose a mini excavator that best suits your business needs. If you are having trouble renting or purchasing a mini excavator, please contact us.

Maintenance: Renting a mini excavator is relatively easy because most lessors take care of maintenance and repairs. When purchasing a mini excavator, you will need to pay for maintenance and repairs.

Working hours: Purchasing or renting is related to the working hours required of a mini excavator. The longer the machine is in operation, the greater the chance of poor performance or limited life. The longevity and quality of your excavator is also important, as newer equipment and better maintenance can bring you more projects.

Attachments: You may need additional attachments for your mini excavator to use the machine in more applications. You may not get all the required accessories when renting.

There are two types of mini excavators: tail swing (also known as conventional) and zero tail swing. The type you need depends on the space available and output requirements of your workplace.

Tail Swing: This type of mini excavator has a rear counterweight that counteracts the added weight in the bucket and stabilizes the mini excavator during operation. As the machine rotates, the counterweight extends 6 inches or more beyond the excavator track width. This presents little problem in an open work area, but can become problematic in more enclosed areas when machines need to be rotated. However, conventional models also offer greater bucket and arm breakout and lifting capabilities. They also offer a roomier cab for greater operator comfort.

Zero Tail Swing: With adjustable cutting height, dig depth, tilt height and reach, the zero tail swing mini excavator provides similar power to a traditional home excavator but with greater maneuverability in tight spaces. The counterweight of a zero-tail swing mini excavator rotates within the width of the track, making it less of a rotation problem than a tail-swing type. Zero-tail swing type mini excavators are easier to maintain, and the main components and parts can be found on the market.
